The protection of your personal data is an essential element of our relationship, whether you are a customer or a user of our services and sites. 1. What data do we collect?
As a data controller within the meaning of Article 24 of the GDPR, EUROPEAN FOCUS may collect personal data directly from you or indirectly via third parties. In accordance with the principle of minimisation, we only collect the data necessary for the purposes for which they are processed. The different categories of data collected during your subscription and in the context of your use of our services or applications are the following: Identification data (name, subscriber number), Contact data (, email address), Connection data (computer IP address, connection and usage logos), Browsing data (list of products and services chosen, details of services and subscriptions taken out, browsing tracking through cookies). The personal data collected can be divided into two categories: (1) Data that you provide voluntarily, for example when you subscribe to our newsletter. The information we collect about you mainly includes identification data, contact data, information relevant to the product or service you have chosen or any data you decide to provide voluntarily. (2) Data collected indirectly (i) through cookies and tracers (see point 7 below) when you visit our site (connection data, navigation data, location data), which we use for internal analysis and to improve the quality of our site, (ii) through Facebook which identifies profiles likely to be interested in our content. Thanks to this, EUROPEAN FOCUS is able to display one of its advertisements on Facebook to people who are not registered or who have not yet visited our site.
2. For what purpose?
Your personal data is collected and processed solely on the basis of the legal grounds provided by the Regulation. The performance of processing necessary for the execution of a contract: Customer account management; Sending newsletters; Communications with the customer (technical and commercial assistance); Organisation of competitions; Management of rights and requests to exercise the rights of individuals; Provision and operation of services.
Carrying out processing based on EUROPEAN FOCUS’s legitimate interests: Fight against fraud; Enrichment and enhancement of the customer/prospect base; Provision of personalised recommendations based on the analysis of usage; Commercial prospecting and development of EUROPEAN FOCUS’s products and services: emailing and so on; Competitions; To ensure compliance with our legal and regulatory obligations as defined by the legislation in force.
To carry out processing for which the data subject has given his/her consent: Commercial prospecting and development of third party products and services: advertising cookies; The performance of processing resulting from a legal and/or regulatory obligation to which EUROPEAN FOCUS is subject: (1) responses to requests to exercise the rights of individuals; (2) management of the list for exercising GDPR rights.
3. To which recipients?
Your personal data may be processed by authorised EUROPEAN FOCUS staff and media partners of this common European project. When you subscribe to EUROPEAN FOCUS, you are authorizing the following media to sending you emails and communications: LIBERATION; DELFI; BALKAN INSIGHT; EL CONFIDENCIAL; HVG.HU; DOMANI; DER TAGESSPIEGEL; GAZETA WYBORCZA; N-OST
The use of these partners or service providers is necessary for the proper execution of the contract between you and EUROPEAN FOCUS.
More specifically, we give access to our subscribers’ data to our partner who manages subscriptions, to our partner in charge of support, to our CRM (customer relationship manager), to our partner in charge of authentication, to our DPO in case of a request from you related to the GDPR. Our service providers in charge of web forms, email address collection, emailing, payments and push notifications may also have access to your data.
If these recipients are required to process your data outside the European Union, transfers will be made in compliance with the regulations.
4. Who is concerned
EUROPEAN FOCUS collects information from and about: People who subscribe to newsletters; Visitors and readers of the site; Third party through cookies.
5. How long will the data be kept?
The personal data that EUROPEAN FOCUS collects during your visit is kept for the time necessary to achieve the purposes set out above, unless a longer period is imposed by law. For example, data concerning you is kept for a maximum of: 5 years from the end of the subscription for subscriber management data; 5 years for data collected when an account is created; 3 years for user data collected when subscribing to a newsletter or intended to be used for prospecting when you are not a subscriber; 3 years in addition to the current year concerning the exercise of GDPR rights.
At the end of these periods, EUROPEAN FOCUS deletes or anonymizes your data. Legal or regulatory obligations may require EUROPEAN FOCUS to keep your data for a minimum period.
6. What security for your data?
We have defined technical and organizational measures to protect your data in an appropriate manner according to its nature, the extent of the processing and its accessibility. This may involve, for example, data encryption, access rights management, secure data flows, etc.

7. What cookies and tracers?

The Cookies We Set:
Users are those people who have registered an account with the WordPress site.
On login, WordPress uses the wordpress_[hash] cookie to store your authentication details. Its use is limited to the Administration Screen area, /wp-admin/
After login, WordPress sets the wordpress_logged_in_[hash] cookie, which indicates when you’re logged in, and who you are, for most interface use.
WordPress also sets a few wp-settings-{time}-[UID] cookies. The number on the end is your individual user ID from the users database table. This is used to customize your view of admin interface, and possibly also the main site interface.

9. Stopping notifications
For the newsletters you receive by email: you will find an unsubscribe link at the bottom of each email that you can click on. You can then decide on the page that appears which newsletters you wish to receive or not.
